Fish likes water, nothing new, but this Fish also likes Amsterdam, his hotel and Scottish beer. These are a couple of things Fish tells us. He'll become fifty this year and with all of his tour experiece he's able to give us some cool anekdotes.

"The kids these days just don't have the stamina"

Long tours and writing lot's of music isnt't that hard. Just be creative and observative. Fish goes all over the world and gets his inspiration from experiences and everything he sees. He even might have a book in store for us some day.

"It's important to keep on bringing something new into your life"

13th Star is receiving very positive reviews. The story is about times that were supposibly better during the Marillion days don't affect him because of that. Times are just different, according to Fish. Every now and then he still finds time to work on a comedy show. Funny? Well, hopefully because otherwise he'll have to take his instant-laugh tape everywhere.

"Did you know that Dutch people have genetically actually evolved to grow tall, so they stay above the water? "

Since he's interested in movies and television, isn't it an option for Fish to make a music video? A wig or some naked woman, and directing it himself might be an option. Or is it hard enough as it is to sell your music? He still likes to watch movies, but not in theaters. Nobody wants a tall guy complaining about a numb ass and food that isn't suitable for theaters.
Less amusing, but just as interesting; the tour. What is, alongside of the orchestral thing he's going to do, happening on this tour? And can we expect some Marillion songs if he happens to bumps into members of his old band?

We spoke to Fish, the Scottish ex-singer of the UK progressive group Marillion. The day before the recordings for the "Return to Childhood" DVD we spoke to the big but very nice man, Fish, about old times, his new book "Livin' with Dick", and the stories about the Misplaced Childhood album!
