Interview with Q.O.T.S.A. 2005

Toazted had an interview with Queens Of The Stone Age guitar player Troy van Leeuwen and drummer Joey Castillo in a very classy hotel in Amsterdam. (February 2005). The interview is all about the album "Lullabies To Paralize." Singer Mark Lanegan was lying down on a coutch, while Troy and Joey talked about the music.

"We like playing smaller shows to get in touch with the people. The bigger the place the further away you have to reach."


Interview with Royksopp from 2002

Toazted did this interview with Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brudtland about the success of Melody AM and their various remix projects.

"There's many sides to Royksopp: there's the interest for communication and melody construction and also in the emotional message of it all, which we hope can appeal to a lot of people."

Interview with Kaiser Chiefs from 2005

We interviewed Simon and Andrew from the populair band Kaiser Chiefs when the band played as support act for U2, in July in Holland. We asked them, if they ever expected to become so successful. Listen to this interview and check out what they have to say about the new album.

Interview with Foo Fighters "HITTING HARD"

Recorded in 2002 with Nate Mendall and Taylor Hawkins. In this interview the guys talk about The Queens of The Stone Age, the possibilities of a Foo Fighter's live album and the little doubts they had before making their album "One By One".

"Sometimes you need to be up against a wall to push through as hard as you can and when you finally do push through, you hit that much harder."

Interview with Athlete (July 2005)

Right before Athlete was about to play a support gig for U2, in Amsterdam Holland. We had a cool interview with Joel and Carey in a bar in Amsterdam. The band did some shows with U2 and were really happy about the fact Bono asked them himself to play with them. Joel also explains the lyrics of the song 'Wires'.


Interview with Apocalyptica from 2005

The classical metal band Apocalyptica played the 2005's Pinkpop festival. They put on a really great show and the crowd seemed to love it very much. Just before the show we talked to Eicca Toppinen of the band about the new album "Apocalyptica".

Interview with Franz Ferdinand from 2004

Franz Ferdinand played the Lowlands festival and Toazted did an interview with the band (Alex and Nick), just before they had to play.

"We went to Japan. It's intense. It felt like Beatlemania. Good fun."


Interview with Incubus; Brandon Boyd in 2003

Brandon Boyd and Mike Einziger were in Holland for promotion in December 2003. Their new album "A Crow Left of the Murder" was released in February 2004. Toazted did an interview with Brandon about their time off, new songs and new bass player.

"We were ready to make a record that went off on tangents"

Interview with Coheed and Cambria 2004

Coheed & Cambria opened up the European tour for Taking Back Sunday and more bands on the 30th of August 2004. Claudio tells us secrets about their upcoming record: "Good Apollo On Burning Star 4, Vol.1 (From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness). (Release: early 2005)

"The new album continues from the bonus track of the 'In Keeping' album. It will be a new story. Also a comic book will be released for the old album soon."

Interview with The Bravery in Amsterdam, 2005

Finally The Bravery were in Holland again for a show. We talked to keyboard player John about the tour of the band. They play almost every night. That must be exhausting... Recorded in Amsterdam, June 2005.

"When we started as a band, we played every Thursday in New York. Started promoting it. Club DJ's got hold on songs they got from the internet and so we got big..."

Interview with Korn; David Silveria

In May 2002 we did an interview with drummer David Silveria at a chic hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. He told us about Korn's new material and it's pre-release on the web.

Interview with Pixies, Frank Black in 1996

We had coffee with Frank Black in 1996 and talked about Ray Bradbury, Ray Davies and Madonna's hit single Ray of Light, Just kidding, but we did ask him if he would ever consider writing a song for Michael Jackson, download for his answer".

Interview with Bad Religion; Greg Graffin in 2004

We spoke to Greg Graffin at the Epitaph Headquarters in Amsterdam in 2004. He is about to get his PHD in Evolutionary Biology and we asked him how he combined his studies with being in a punk band:

"Biology is a topic that touches every aspect of social life and Bad Religion is a band that sings about social life and hopefully creates a better social life. So idealogically there's not that much of a contrast."

Interview with Audio Bullys

Tom Dinsdale and Simon Franks from the Audio Bullys did an interview with us in October, 2003 about their "do it yourself" attitude:

"We grew up in a generation where kids could get a hold of the equipment to make tracks in their own bedroom."

Interview with Social Distortion

In an interview from around 1996 Dennis Danell from Social Distortion spoke to us in 1996 after the release of "White Light, White Heat, White Trash".

"People always say, 'Play Old Songs, Play Old Songs", we love playing the old songs but we've been playing those songs for ten years and believe it or not we're trying to promote our new album."
