Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge about Blackbird (1)

Myles Kennedy was visiting Amsterdam where he and the band Alter Bridge got the chance to hang back and relax for a while. Apart from his latest addiction – Indian food - , he tells us the touring plans and how well things are for the band lately. Oh, and Spinal Tap.. Very important.
-If I was dating someone and I would show them Spinal Tap and they wouldn't think it’s funny..? EEHH! NEXT!

A personal difference for singer/writer Kennedy is the fact that he co-wrote the whole album this time, whereas he joined the band during the writing proces with the previous album. Mark Tremonti, who we all know of his Creed period, is also writing on this record. Myles tells us what kind of differences this brings. He also explains why his new ‘whats going on in the world’-approach is a harder way of writing lyrics.
-A lot of what we do as a band, is dealing in parts..

Lyrics have to be real, says Kennedy, they have to be sincere and not just sound nice. That’s very important for the singer. But not as important as creating a connection with the fans. That's the best thing in the bussiness. Watch and listen how Kennedy explains this because it’s a whole lot better than this piece of text.
-It’s kinda like you write your own script

Than some insight in the songs. Do we hear a Dimebagg reference..? The lyrics contain subject as drugs and other rock and roll-like experiences. In the end Myles tells us a funny –at least for us- story about when he fell face down when he tried to stand up on a monitor during a Dutch festival show..
-It was a Spinal Tap moment. I felt like a complete moron..
