AFI played The Lowlands Festival in August 2003. The band had just entered nr.5 on The Billboard 100, next to 50 cent. We did an interview with Adam and Hunter about the band's success and influences.

"We're into The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol and Hot Hot Heat. There are so many great bands that aren't trying to be another metal 'blah blah' whatever. They're just doing whatever they feel. I totally relate to that because that's what we do."
