Interview with Neil Leyton on the Stubnitz (1)

In a mysterious atmosphere, we went to the old DDR boat the Stubnitz to visit Neil Leyton. He would perform that night on a ship.
After a trip through the rain we found Neil, sitting in a small room, with little light.
He tells us the story about his new record, which he recorded with the Swedish band The Ghosts. His connection with them and how the recording of the record completely failed at a certain point. Which made him stick to analog recording..
"After about 3 months work on the album, we lost everything.. The computer crashed, a terrible tragedy!"

Neil thinks the Radiohead move is brilliant and expects this is the logical step. He further elaborates about the free trade of music and the new role he thinks recordlabels will have to fulfill. He thinks the music industry should share the royalty money more fair, especially to the independant labels.
